Its purpose is to lay out Whimsy’s core principals of child development and define our specific formula for creating each Whimsy offering to ensure it meets our high standards.

Physical Development: Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Walking: Traveling forward or backwards where one foot
is always connecting to the ground

Marching: Traveling forward or backwards where one
foot is always connecting to the ground with knees lifted

 

Running: Traveling forward or backwards where two feet
leave the ground mid movement

 

Hopping: Moving up and down on one foot
 

Jumping: Moving up and down on two feet
 

Galloping: Traveling forward or backwards with one foot
always in the lead

 

Sliding:Traveling sideways with one foot always in the
lead

 

Leaping: Hopping off of one foot and landing on the
other

 

Skipping: Alternating steps and hops with lifted knees
 

Kicking: Applying forward and upward motion with one
foot

 

Balancing: Standing without falling on one foot or two
 

Stretching: Extending the muscles
 

Strengthening: Applying force to the muscles to cause
them to grow
